Get your PWC licence!

PWC stands for ‘Personal Watercraft’, and is commonly referred to as a ‘jet ski licence’. You need a PWC licence to operate a PWC, such as a jetski, at any speed. You will also need to already hold, or be doing at the same time, a NSW boat licence.

We can cover both at the same time if you require both licences. If you’re just here to do the PWc licence, our course will cover all the requirements so you can head to Service NSW and go skiing legally ASAP!

Getting your PWC licence, made simple

NSW PWC licence frequently asked questions...

How do I get a NSW PWC licence?

The PWC licence course will run for a few hours and cover all the tuition and test required. Upon successful completion, simply take our paperwork to Service NSW, and you can upgrade your boat licence to the PWC licence.

To obtain a PWC licence, you’ll need a NSW boat licence. If you don’t already hold one of those, we’ll cover it at the same course at the same time.

Can I use a NSW PWC licence interstate?

The NSW PWC licence can be used across Australia if you’re going on holidays.

If you permanently move interstate, you will have to change your licence over to that states licence.

When do I need a NSW PWC licence?

A PWC driving licence is required for people aged 12 years and over to drive a PWC. People who hold a general boat driving licence can upgrade to a PWC driving licence at any time. A PWC driving licence includes a general boat licence. A PWC licence holder is able to operate a vessel with a fully enclosed hull that may be driven standing up, lying down, sitting astride or kneeling, and includes jet powered surfboards.

You must carry a NSW boat licence when doing anything for which the licence is required, and produce it for inspection when requested by a relevant authority (NSW Police, RMS etc.). When we make it easy for you to get qualified, you’d be stupid to risk it.

Is there any practical required?

No, for the PWC licence only, there is no requirement for on-water training or logbook trip recording.

Everything is covered with our course.

Where can I get it done?

We conduct licence courses every few days across Sydney. Upcoming dates/times/locations can be found here.

Bookings can be made online or via phone with our friendly office team.

Please note that we typically book out roughly 1-2 weeks in advance.

How much is it?
